Box 388 Stockton, CA 95201-0388 Subject: Response to letter dated March 9, 1995 and Workplan Addendum for Knowles Property, 102 S. Wilson Way, Stockton, CA (site code 9031) Dear Ms. Turkatte: In response to your letter dated March 9, I am writing to provide you with a brief workplan to install an additional monitoring well adjacent to the subject site. One groundwater monitoring well will be installed within the warehouse located at 1538 E. Market Street, adjacent to the subject site. The attached sketch depicts the proposed location of the well. The well will be constructed of 2" diameter PVC casing and will be screened from approximately 53 to 73 feet below grade. Soil samples will be collected at five foot intervals during drilling for logging purposes. One soil sample from the capillary fringe will be submitted for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) by EPA methods 8015/8020. Following development, groundwater samples will be collected from the well and analyzed for TPHG and BTEX. All field activities will be conducted in accordance with the Site Safety Plan and our Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan. Analyses will be conducted by a State Certified laboratory. It is my understanding the drilling contractor, Spectrum Exploration, is permitting this well with the county as well as obtaining the necessary encroachment permits. We are submitting a copy of this Workplan Addendum to Mr. George Lockwood of the SWRCB UST Cleanup Fund for pre-approval in order to expedite reimbursement. Once this approval has been obtained the work will be scheduled.
