Box 388
Stockton, California 95201-0388
RE: 102 S. Wilson Way
Stockton, California
Your Site Code: 9031
Dear Ms. Turkette:
I am writing to address comments contained in your letter dated
January 26, 1995, regarding our next proposed phase of
investigation at the above-referenced site.
We believe that the current proposed borings address potential
contamination related to piping runs. Attached you will find two
historical photographs and a site sketch prepared by Carl Knowles
that give an indication of the original tank and island locations
from which the piping runs can be inferred. I believe the current
proposed boring locations are appropriate to address any issues
related to releases from piping.
With regard to your request for the placement of a monitoring well
within the current warehouse building east of the site, we would
propose to defer that activity at this time. The current use of
the building is not compatible with bringing in a drill rig, and
moreover, the next phase of investigation will provide important
information about the general plume geometry in the area of the
warehouse. At the conclusion of this next phase of work, we may
propose a slant boring beneath the building or potentially an
additional well on the eastern boundary of the building, however,
these are decisions that should be made at that time with all of
the available data.
Post Office Box 130 9 Milford, Ca. 96121 • Ph. 916-253-2155 0 Fax 916-253-2294
