However, the area of the former piping run
from the former tank pit to the dispenser area still needs investigation. If the location
of the former piping run is known, at least one soil boring should be installed in this
area as well. If the location is unknown, additional soil borings may be needed.
The locations of the additional monitoring wells proposed to investigate the full extent
of the groundwater contaminant plume are warranted. However, the general direction
of groundwater flow is to the east of the site. A monitoring well in this area is critical
for this investigation. A building and a warehouse occupies this space, however a
small drill rig may be used to install a well inside the larger portion of the building or
in the warehouse portion.
Additionally, the letter did not address the need for feasibility studies at the site
during this first quarter of 1995. These studies are a requirement and must be
completed concurrently with the assessment phase so that a complete and
comprehensive Corrective Action Plan can be compiled and implemented.
The soils and purge water disposal plan already submitted for this site should be
implemented as soon as weather permits.
A ni%ision of San Joaquin County Health Care Scrvicc.
