Written Request by Long
Site Location : Stockton
RE: Four (4) soil samples submitted on April 16, 1987 for total
hydrocarbons response and one ( 1) water sample for volatile
organic analyses .
Procedure : The samples are analyzed for total hydrocarbon
response by following the method described in Attachment 2,
Analytical Procedures for Fuel Leak Investigations . The samples
are concentrated on a Tekmar LSC-2 automatic sample concentrator
prior to injection into a gas chromatograph fitted with a flame
ionization detector . Quantitation is performed , as total
hydrocarbon response , against solutions made from a known
concentrations of gasoline . The limit of detection for this
method of analysis is one part per million (mg/kg) .
The sample is analyzed for volatile organic compounds by
following a modified EPA method 624 procedure using gas
chromatography-mass spectroscopy.
The results are displayed in tables I and II .
Table I
TMA/
Norcal Client ID Concentration (mg/kg) *
2251-11-5 TB1 16-16. 5 ' ND(1)
2251-11-6 TB2 21-21. 5 ' ND (1)
2251-11-7 TB3 21-21.5 ' ND(1)
2251-11-8 TB4 11-11. 5 ' ND (1)
* wet weight basis
ND = None detected .
