(209)838-9888 <br /> ' Facsimile- (209)838-9883 <br /> ' January 7, 2000 <br /> I ' Mr Ron Rowe <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> ' 304 E Weber Ave , 3rd FI <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Subject Fourth Quarter 1999, Report, Knowles/Roek Property, 102 South Wilson Way, <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1) <br /> Dear Mr Rowe <br /> yGround Zero Analysis, Inc (Ground Zero) has prepared this report to summarize activities during <br /> the fourth quarter 1999 at the subject site Groundwater related activities included monitoring <br /> ' groundwater elevations, purging and sampling groundwater, and analyzing samples for total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes <br /> (BTEX) Additionally, as requested by 'San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> ' Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD), samples from all wells were analyzed for oxygenates <br /> [methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), <br /> tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), and tertiary butyl alcohol/tert-butanol (TBA)] using EPA <br /> ' method 8260 <br /> During the fourth quarter 1999 (October 1 through January 3, 2000), the Soil Vapor Extraction <br /> ' System (VES) operated for 1,474 hours, removing an estimated 220 pounds of hydrocarbons <br /> from the subsurface Since full time operation began on November 19, 1997 the VES has <br /> operated for a total of 12,225 hours, removing approximately 12,670 pounds of hydrocarbons <br /> from the subsurface The system operated properly during the first and third months of the <br /> quarter The system shut down in November for unknown reasons and Ground Zero had <br /> ' difficulty restarting the system The system functioned properly in December, and was <br /> functioning properly during the most recent maintenance inspection on January 3, 2000 <br /> roeklgmrl4gm1999 <br /> I <br />
