i <br /> ' Mr Nuel Henderson <br /> Page 2 of 9 <br /> ' at 102 South Wilson Way Wells were completed in three depth intervals informally denoted as <br /> the A Zone(shallow), B Zone(intermediate) and C Zone (deep) <br /> Resources <br /> Mr Sean Garvey, a Ground Zero geologist, and project manager Greg Stahl, a California <br /> Registered Geologist, directed dnllmg and well construction between January 10 and January 22, <br /> 2003 Morrow Surveying surveyed the new wells on January 29, 2003 Mr Anthony Scoma, a <br /> ' Ground Zero technician, sampled the new wells on January 30 and 31, 2003 Mr Nuel <br /> Henderson and Mr Harlin Knoll of EHD conducted the grout inspections V&W Drilling <br /> (V&W), a State-licensed drilling company (C57-720904), performed drilling and well <br /> ' development services Argon Laboratories, Inc (Argon), a State-certified hazardous waste <br /> testing laboratory (ELAP#2359), completed the laboratory analyses for all samples <br /> ' INVESTIGATIVE PROCEDURES <br /> ' Permitting and Protocols <br /> Prior to irutiatmg fieldwork, well installation pemuts were obtained from EHD All fieldwork was <br /> t performed in accordance with Ground Zeros Site Health and Safety Plan and Sampling and <br /> Analysis Plan All down-hole drilling equipment was decontaminated using a steam cleaner <br /> Sampling equipment was decontaminated by washing in an Alconox° detergent solution and <br /> rinsing thoroughly with clean water Soil cuttings and ansate generated from drilling and <br /> decontamination activities were placed into labeled Department of Transportation (DOT) approved <br /> 55-gallon drums <br /> ' Hollow Stem Auger Dnihng and Sampling <br /> g <br /> ' From January 10 through January 14, 2003, V&W advanced four borings (MW15A, MW 1513, <br /> MW16A and MW1613) and deepened well MW13 (now identified as MW1313) utilizing a drill <br /> rig equipped with hollow stem augers The wells were installed in the A and B Zones under the <br /> ' supervision of field geologist Sean Garvey Well locations are shown on Figure 2 <br /> ' Soil Sampling <br /> For subjective evaluation of contamination and soil classification concerns, soil samples were <br /> ' collected from wells MW1313, MW15A, MW1513, MW16A and MW16B using an 18-inch long <br /> split barrel core sampler lined with 2-inch diameter brass sleeves A photo ionization detector <br /> (PID) was used to monitor for the presence of volatile chemicals of concern in the soil <br /> ' Selected soil samples, as well as those from the capillary fringe and the bottom of the bonngs <br /> were collected, sealed, labeled, and immediately placed in an ice chest at a temperature of <br /> 1 <br /> ' IIGZA_FSIVOL_IIUATAIGROUNDZOROEKICLOSUREIReports\Add_HSA_Mud wells doc <br />
