From a depth of five to fifteen feet, sods <br /> ' consist of silty clays grading into silts and clayey silts Sand lenses were encountered in <br /> MW6 from approximately 7 to 10 feet below ground surface and in SB22 from <br /> approximately 10 to 13 feet A gray silt to clayey silt exists from a depth of approximately <br /> 15 to 45 feet From 45 to 50 feet, sods consist of clays and salty clays Below a depth <br /> of 50 feet, sods consist of intermittent clays, silts, and sands, with groundwater at a depth <br /> of approximately 60 feet. <br /> ' Crosst" <br /> sec ion B-B, Figure 4, indicates the same backfill maternal to a depth of <br /> ' approximately five feet, but it more clearly indicates a layer of sand from seven to ten feet <br /> A silt zone exists from a depth of approximately 12 to 38 feet and from 38 to 50 feet, soils <br /> consist of silty clays, sandy clays and silts. Below a depth of 50 feet, sands with <br /> ' intermittent clay and silt layers were encountered. <br /> ' SAMPLE ANALYSIS <br /> Soil samples were collected from each of the three borings and analyzed for BTX&E and <br /> ' TPH as gasoline The initial groundwater sample was collected on August 15, 1990 and <br /> was also analyzed for BTX&E, TPH as gasoline, and EPA Method 8240 constituents A <br /> confirmation sample was collected on August 29, 1990 from monitoring wells MW4 and <br /> MW6 and analyzed for EPA Method 601 constituents. <br /> The analytical methods referred to above conform to EPA Test Methods for Evaluating <br /> Solid Waste, Physical IChemical Methods (SW-846, 2nd Edition), Methods for Organic <br /> Chemical Analysis of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater, USEPA 600-14-057, applicable <br /> methodologies from Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, <br /> 16th Edition, and/or as specified in the Leaking Underground Tank Manual (LUFT) <br /> modified EPA SW-846 Method 8015. <br /> The laboratory analyzing the samples for BTX&E,TPH as gasoline, and 8240 constituents <br /> was Superior Analytical, Inc , a DOHS-certified laboratory. The confirmation sample was <br /> analyzed for EPA Method 601 constituents by APPL, Inc Included in Appendix B are <br /> Superior Analytical's and APPL's DOHS certificates, as well as, the chain-of-custody and <br /> analytical results. <br /> 7 <br />
