Samples PLr8 and PIr8SW were collected at depths of 5 and 3.5 feet bgs,
,I respectively. TPHG was detected in PL-8 and PL-8SW at concentrations of 9.18 and 1.59
mg/kg, respectively. Benzene was detected in sample PLr8 at a concentration of
0.0609mg/kg. MTBE was detected in sample PL-8 at'a concentration of 11.1 mg/kg. All
other constituents did not exceed laboratory detection limits.
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work will contain the following tasks:
i
' • Task 1 Planning and Permitting
• Task 2 Well Installation Activities
• Task 3 Laboratory Analysis of Soil and Groundwater Samples
• Task 4 Report Preparation
Drilling activities will be conducted by a California licensed drilling contractor under the
direction of an IT geologist. A California registere&geologist will supervise the work
conducted during this assessment. A discussion of activities to be conducted in cacti task
is presented in the following sections. Well installation methods and sampling methods
are discussed in greater detail in Appendix A and Appendix B, respectively.
Task 1. Planning and Permitting
Prior to implementing the monitoring well installation activities, IT will obtain drilling
Permits from San Joaquin Count
and well installation per o q y Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). Underground utilities will be cleared by
notifying Underground Service Alert and by using a private utility locator to confirm that
utilities and other subsurface obstructions are not present at the drilling location.
IT has prepared a site specific Health and Safety Plan in accordance with 29CFR1910.120.
The Health and Safety Plan includes safety procedures, chemical hazard information, and
the location of the nearest hospital (Appendix Q.
SaclN:%C-amPklDat*WrchiveWco15469\R"as%5469pl O3.doc•95Vsg:1 TT Corporation
02/28/00
