It was the intention of the EHD for you to start the well installation and take
immediate action to obtain and install the remediation unit and complete the
plumbing/trenching. The field work to install the wells and remediation unit and to start
up the remediation system is to begin immediately. Please submit a Well Permit
Application Form and the appropriate fees by March 31, 2011.
A work plan addendum was required by the EHD in the February 15 correspondence
and was to include a fate and transport model, a proposal to collect soil gas samples to
conduct a soil vapor intrusion evaluation, and a schedule of dates that the field work will
be conducted and the dates that reports will be submitted to Geotracker. Not all of these
items were adequately addressed.
The work plan addendum received advised the EHD that the fate and transport model
will be submitted after soil data from the remediation wells has been collected. Although
not the original intention of the EHD, the fate and transport model may be submitted in
the remediation well installation report.
The soil vapor investigation proposed in the work plan addendum included collecting soil
samples at five feet below the surface from three remediation well boreholes: It was the
intention of the EHD that soil9 as samples be collected in areas that could indicate a
potential risk to human health was present.
2662 Wilson TRAP WP adn CML 3-24-11.doc
