Wilson Way, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr.Infiima: <br /> Enclosed herewith are completed drilling permit applications and associated fees for the installation of <br /> six(6)additional wells at the subject site(Figure 1). The work will be conducted in accordance with the <br /> September 5, 2008 Workplan for Soil Vapor Extraction/Air Sparging Pilot Test and Additional <br /> Groundwater Investigation, which was approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department(EHD)in correspondence dated September 16,2008. <br /> The proposed wells will be installed in preparation of a pilot test to determine if soil vapor extraction <br /> (SVE) combined with In-Situ Air Sparging (IAS) would be an appropriate remediation alternative for <br /> the subject Site. Two(2)vapor extraction wells [VEW1 and VEW2],one(1) air sparging well [ASWI], <br /> and three (3) observation wells [OWI, OW2 and OW3] will be installed on Site. After proper <br /> development, the wells will be implemented in the proposed SVE/IAS pilot test. Wells VEW1 and <br /> VEW2 will be installed using 10-inch diameter hollow stem augers.to depths of 55 and 25 feet below <br /> grade, respectively. While ASWI, OWI, OW2 and OW3 will be installed with 8-inch diameter hollow <br /> stem augers to depths of 75,25,25 and 60 feet below grade,respectively. The borings will be advanced <br /> by V&W Drilling, Inc(C57-720904)under the supervision of a Ground Zero geologist. The location of <br /> proposed wells can be seen on the site plan provided as Figure 2. <br /> You will be provided with at least 48-hours notice prior to conducting fieldwork.
