Wilson Way RO#: 276
Stockton, CA 95205 CUF#: 15094
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Site Conceptual
Model (SCM), dated February 15, 2008, the First Quarter 2008 Ground Water Monitoring and
Sampling Report dated April 29, 2008, and Feasibility Study- Soil and Ground Water Remediation
report dated July 2, 2008 submitted to Geotracker and has the following comments.
Interpretation of the soil data collected over the years appears to support your consultant's
conclusion that the delineation of the contamination in the surrounding soil is adequately defined.
Additionally, the ground water contamination investigation appears to be nearly complete. The
EHD has concerns with the potential for petroleum contamination to be in the ground water
outboard of MW-5 and east of MW-3 and MW-4. These areas will need further investigation
before a full remedial action plan can be approved and a work plan for the collection of additional
ground water samples is required. If your consultant feels that monitoring wells should be
installed in these areas instead of soil borings to collect grab ground water samples, the work
plan due at the EHD can include the well construction details.
The work plan to conduct soil vapor extraction (SVE) and in-situ air sparge (IAS) pilot testing, as
included in the feasibility study, can now be submitted to the EHD. This work plan may include
the proposal to collect the ground water samples in the areas of concern to the EHD or submitted
under separate cover.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Michael Infurna, Senior Registered Environmental
Health Specialist, at (209)468-3454.
Sincerely,
lee_
Michael J.
