r l
PUBLIC NOTICE
Fact Sheet
Pending Case Closure for Leaking Underground Storage Tank Site
Advanced Geo Environmental, Inc. (AGE), on behalf of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD), invites public comment regarding the SJCEHD consideration to grant regulatory
closure for a leaking underground storage tank (LUST)case on the Site identified below.
SUBJECT SITE:
Site Name: Harry's Auto Mart GeoTracker Global ID#T0607700314
Site Address: 2662 North Wilson Way, Stockton, California
SJCEHD Site Code: 1306
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: 21 March—21 May 2014
CASE SUMMARY:
The SJCEHD in cooperation with the property owner and the responsible party, Mr. John and Ms. Maxine
Ferraiolo, and environmental consultant, AGE, have evaluated soil and groundwater conditions at the Site
resulting from historical unauthorized releases of gasoline from an underground storage tank (UST)
system and from fueling operations. The UST system, consisting of four USTs and associated piping,
was removed from the Site in April 1989.
Soil and groundwater investigations were conducted from 2000 to 2013. Gasoline hydrocarbons were
detected in on-site soil and groundwater. Active remediation of soil and groundwater by soil vapor
extraction (SVE) and in-situ air sparging (IAS) was conducted during a pilot test in 2011 and continued
until early 2014. An estimated 42,500 pounds of petroleum hydrocarbons were removed from the
subsurface through IAS and SVE. A soil vapor investigation was not conducted to evaluate the potential
for indoor vapor intrusion into current and future Site buildings, as the State Water Resources Control
Board (SWRCB) Cleanup Fund determined that the case meets the Low-Threat Closure Policy for vapor
intrusion. The SWRCB has concluded that the Site status is protective of the environment and of human
health for current and future Site use and for adjacent off-site areas. After receipt of notification that all
case closure activities have been completed, the SJCEHD intends to issue a No Further Action Required
letter for the subject Site.
WHERE TO GET MORE INFORMATION
Site information can be obtained from the GeoTracker website at http://geotracker.waterboards.ca.gov/.
Upon written request, the Site case file is available for review at the SJCEHD office located at 1868 East
Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, California 95205.
