Using
the proper methods when gauging your tank's contents will insure the most accurate reading and insure
110 7808 116 8004 that you do not damage your tank. The following procedure should be followed whenever you use a
110 1/8 7813 116 1/8 8007 gauge stick to determine the amount of product that is in your tank:
1) Use a wood dipstick with a rubber or nylon tip. Metallic dipsticks are not recommended. This will
110 1/4 7818 116 1/4 8010 insure that frequent tank gaugings or an accidental dropping of the gauge stick into the tank will not
110 3/8 7823 116 3/8 8013 damage the tank bottom.
2) Slowly lower your gauge stick into the fill port until it touches the tank bottom. Never free drop the
110 1/2 7828 116 1/2 8015 gauge stick. This can result in inaccurate measurements due to product splashing. Free dropping can
110 5/8 7833 116 5/8 8018 also result in gauge stick damage and tank damage.
3) Remove your dipstick slowly and read the product level directly from the gauge stick.
110 3/4 7838 116 3/4 8021
1107/8 7843 116 7/8 8023 Water Paste Detection
To detect water in the tank bottom, water detection paste is available from petroleum equipment
111 7848 117 8026 distributors. However, some water detection paste cannot detect antifreeze mixtures. If antifreeze
111 1/8 7852 117 1/8 8028 mixtures are used for the cavity monitoring fluid, the following product is capable of detecting water or
antifreeze(brine or up to 50 percent glycol)solution in the tank water bottoms:
111 1/4 7857 117 1/4 8030 WATER FINDER#7686-1870
111 3/8 7862 117 3/8 8033 DAYCO/NATIONAL
DAYTON,OH
111 1/2 7866 117 1/2 8035 TEL: 1-800-283-2926
111 5/8 7871 117 5/8 8037 FAX: 1-800-688-4854
111 3/4 7875 117 3/4 8039 Caution
111 7/8 7880 117 7/8 8041 Pressurized deliveries are not recommended. If the delivery vehicle uses pumps to fill the tank, install
overfill shutoff equipment in the tank and truck to prevent the tank from being overfilled. Overfilling the
112 7884 118 8043 tank under pressure will damage the tank even if the tank vent is unrestricted.
112 1/8 7889 118 1/8 8045
Containment Solutions,Inc.
112 1/4 7893 118 1/4 8047 5150 Jefferson Chemical Road
112 3/8 7898 118 3/8 8048 Conroe,TX 77301
Tel:409-756-7731
112 1/2 7902 118 1/2 8050 Fax:409-756-7766
112 5/8 7906 118 5/8 8052
112 3/4 7910 118 3/4 8053
112 7/8 7915 118 7/8 8054
113 7919 119 8055
113 1/8 7923 119 1/8 8057
113 1/4 7927 119 1/4 8058
113 3/8 7931 119 3/8 8058
113 1/2 7935 119 1/2 8059
113 5/8 7939 119 5/8 8059
113 3/4 7943
113 7/8 7947
114 7950
Comp-A Containment Solutions,Inc.Confidential Page 4
