Mr Michael Infurna ' Page 5 of 6 3.3 Groundwater Analytical Results ' Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the groundwater samples collected from wells MW 1 through MW4, MW6 and U-Haul MW7 ' Detectable concentrations TPHg ranged from 280 parts per billion (ppb) in MW3 to 150,000 ppb in well MW1 Detectable concentrations of benzene ranged from 2 9 in well U-Haul MW7 to 13,000 ppb TPHg was not detected in wells MW5 or MW7 BTEX was not detected in wells MW3, MW5 and MW7 Gasoline oxygenates and ethylenedibromxde (EDB) were not detected 1n any site wells 1,2 ' dichloroethane (1,2 DCA) was not detected in wells MW1D, MW1, MW3 and MW7 (however, detection limits were elevated for the samples collected from MW 1 and MW 1 D) Detectable ' concentrations of 1,2 DCA ranged from 2 2 ppb in well MW5 to 130 ppb in well U-Haul MW7 Groundwater analytical results are summarized in Tables 3 and 4 Laboratory reports and chain of custody documentation are included in Attachment D ' 3.4 Water Supply Well Survey ' Due to apparent gaps found in data supplied by California Department of Water Resources (DWR), an additional physical water supply well survey (field reconnaissance with interviews) was conducted lie On December 12, 2003, Ground Zero conducted a physical water supply well survey in the site vicinity to investigate the existence of any wells not documented on the accessible databases Five ' previously unidentified water supply wells were located Residences and businesses located along northbound North Wilson Way (southeast side) are reportedly connected to a municipal water supply serviced by California Water Service (Cal Water) Tabulated data and source information ' from Ground Zero's February 7, 2001 water well database search and field check, Blaes Environmental's May 2003 water well database search within 2,000 feet of the adjacent U-Haul site, and Ground Zero's December 2003 physical survey are included in Table 5 Water well ' locations identified within 2,000 feet of the subject site are presented on Figure 4 DWR well logs are included in Attachment E Water well data supplied by Environmental Data Resources (EDR) for Blaes Environmental's May 2003 water well survey are included in Attachment F 4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS 4.1 Conclusions • Very low levels of soil contamination were identified in the saturated zone in well MW6 This appears to be associated with transport of dissolved contaminants in groundwater I • The lateral extent of groundwater contamination appears to be defined to the northeast (U-Haul MW12) and southeast (MW7) of the site To the southwest of the site in well MW5, 1,2 DCA was present at a very low level (2 2 ppb) but no other analytes were detected This well appears I 11GZA_Fs1VOL_11DATAIGROLNDZEIHARRYS\Reports\Well Report2 doc
