• Mr Jeffery Wong
Page 2
Prior to sampling, wells MW 1 through 1\4W4 were purged of a nunimum of three well casing volumes
During the purging process physical parameters (temperature, pH and electrical conductivity) were
measured in each respective well, and a light sheen developed in well MW1 Groundwater samples
were collected after the physical parameters stabilized, and the water levels recovered to at least 80%
of the initial depth to water measurements Subsequently the samples were placed in an ice chest
cooled to a temperature of approximately 4° degrees Centigrade Purgewater was contained in
appropriately labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums, and is currently being stored onsite pending
proper disposal options Purge logs are included in Attachment A
Groundwater samples were delivered under chain of custody protocol to Argon Laboratories (FLAP
#2359) Analysis consisted of gasoline oxygenate additives, 1,2 DCA and EDB using EPA method
8260, BTEX using EPA method 8020, and TPHg using modified EPA method 8015
GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS
1,2 DCA and EDB were not detected in well MW3 for the second consecutive sampling event, and
gasoline oxygenate additives were not detected in wells MW 1 through MW4 TPHg ranged from
190 parts per billion (ppb) to 280,000 ppb, and benzene ranged from 1 I ppb to 20,000 ppb in
iwells MW3 and MWI, respectively Concentrations of 1,2 DCA ranged from 300 ppb (MW4) to
640 ppb (MW I), and EDB was detected in well MW 1 at a concentration of 250 ppb
Analytical results are summarized in Table 2 Attachment B contains laboratory reports and chain of
custody documentation
SUMMARY
• Groundwater flow was away from an apparent groundwater mound in the vicinity of well MW 1
• TPHg, BTEX and 1,2 DCA concentrations were generally snnilar to those recorded during the
previous sampling event
• Concentrations of gasoline oxygenate additives remained at non-detectable levels in all wells
• EDB was not detected in wells MW2 through MW4, and 1,2 DCA was not detected in well MW3
for the second consecutive event
Hazryslreportslgmr\2gm2001 doc
