Tr
MOMP
January 26, 1987
Laurie Cotulla, R.S.
(c;
Registered Sanitarian
Environmental Health Division JAN 2 7 ,987
San Joaquin Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
Stockton, Ca 95201 FERMIT/SERVICES
Dear Ms Cotulla:
Enclosed is the Soil and Ground Water Assessment Report,
Second Phase, prepared by J. H. Kleinfelder, Please
review the report and advise any comments. Guild
is prepared to implement the recommendations if they
are approved by both the. Local Health District and
the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
We have been advised that the Soil Remediation test
i report will be issued shortly.
The bore holes previously made on the East edge of
the Champagne Processing tank pads indicated that
no soil contamination was present under the existing
and proposed tank pads at that time. These tank
pads were installed.
These reports indicate that contamination in the
ground water is traveling in a south easterly
direction, away from the existing tank pads. It also
appears that no additional wells for study or remediation
will be required on the West side of the existing
tank pads.
Guild, therefore, requests that the Local Health
Distract approve a building permit to construct
five, (5) , additional tank pads. Two. (2) , pads are
proposed to extend fifteen, (15) , feet south of the
present installation and three, (3) , pads are proposed
to extend twenty-seven, (27) , feet east of the existing
Champagne Chiller.
Thankyoun_foryouur_consderation in this matter,
Sincerely,
Douglas H. 7orquer
Plant Engineer
GUI LD Wineries and Distilleries One Winemasters'Way, Lodi, California 95240 (209)368-5151
