sn.
J. H.KLEINFELDER &ASSOCIATES
well at a rate of 10 gallons per minute A minimum of 385
gallons or approximately 28 well volumes of water were removed
from each well until clarity of the discharged water was
achieved. Development data for MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7 are included
in Appendix C of this report. The pump and reel assembly was
decontaminated with a trisodium phosphate solution and steam
cleaned priLr to and after each well dEvelopment to minimize
cross contamination.
After the shallow aquifer had been allowed to equilibrate,
monitoring wells MW--1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7 -
,j were purged and sampled on Sepcamber 8 and 9, 1986. Purging of
. .the stagnant water from each well was achieved by pumping 200
gallons or approximately 10 to 15 well volumes from each well at
a rate of 10 gallons per minute. During the purging interval,
the temperature, pH, and conductivity of the discharge water was
measured. When these parameters stabilized, representing the
ambient condition of the aquifer, a water sample was then.
collected. Monitoring well sampling data sheets are included in
Appendix C of this report. The pump assembly and bailer was
decontaminated prior to and after the sampling of each well.
Water samples were extracted with a decontaminated teflon bailer;
contained in 40 ml VQA bottles; sealed; and placed in an iced
cooler. The water samples were then submitted at the end of
---
------ f`Tela_--operations-ta- California-Analytical- Lahor-a tor-ies-/EN5EC0__Xu_---_----_---_
West Sacramento, under chain-of-custody procedures .
