1 Quarterly Report - Third Quarter 2002
QUICKI-KLEEN CAR WASH
707 East Yosemite Avenue,Manteca, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Ms MaryLou Pontes of Quicki-Kleen Car Wash,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
' Inc (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 707 East Yosemite Avenue,
Manteca, California The scope of work included monitoring and sampling three ground water
monitoring wells and preparation of this report The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on
Figure 1 Structures, boring and well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information
is summarized in the AGE-prepared Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report, dated
' 19 March 2001 Ground water analytical data from the current and previous investigations can be
found in Tables 1 and 2
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
' Field work was conducted and this report was prepared in accordance with guidelines Issued by the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for subsurface investigation
of underground storage tank (UST) sites and guidelines issued by the San Joaquin County
' Environmental Health Department (EHD) for sampling ground water monitoring wells
2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
Ground water sampling of wells MW 1,MW2 and MW3 was conducted on 07 August 2002 For the
' sampling event, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the
three wells relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient were
' determined from this data (Table 1)
After recording water level measurements, disposable plastic bailers were used to purge the wells
' of standing water, approximately 2 5 to 3 5 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing water-volumes
per well) were removed from each well Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were
measured at regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Purged ground water
' was containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and stored on-site
Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A
' 22 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers after
allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water
sample was transferred into three 40-ml VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
