INTRODUCTION <br /> ' In accordance with the request of Ms MaryLou Pontes of Quicki-Kleen Car Wash, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER)for 707 East Yosemite Avenue (the site), Manteca, California The scope of work Included <br /> the advancement of five probe borings and the collection and analysis of soil and ground water <br /> samples The location of the site and Its surroundings are Illustrated on Figure 1 Mayor features on <br /> the site and soil probe boring locations are Illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> ' This investigation was performed in accordance with guidelines of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and of the Central Valley Regional <br /> ' Water Quality Control Board for the Investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> ' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> '. The site is located at 707 East Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California,in a topographically flat area <br /> at an elevation between 30 and 35 feet above mean sea level The site is within the southwest quarter <br /> of Section 33, Township 1 South, Range 7 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (Manteca <br /> ' Quadrangle, 7 5-Minute USGS Topographic Series, 1952, photo revised 1987) <br /> 21 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The property is currently occupied by the Quicki-Kleen Car Wash and is developed with a one-story <br /> food mart and car wash facility The site buildings are located north of the fuel dispenser islands and <br /> USTs (Figure 2) Presently the facility operates one split 20,000-gallon UST containing 5,000 <br /> gallons of diesel fuel, 5,000 gallons of premium unleaded fuel and 10,000 gallons of regular <br /> ' unleaded fuel <br /> ' 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 18 February 2000, one 8,000-gallon diesel UST, one 8,000-gallon gasoline UST, and one <br /> ' 10,000-gallon gasoline UST,were removed from the site by Environmental Control Industries, Inc <br /> (ECI) A representative from Krazan & Associates, Inc was present to observe field activities and <br /> ' collect soil samples The approximate locations of the former USTs are shown on Figure 2 <br /> Soil samples were collected beneath the former USTs at a depth of 15 5 feet below surface grade <br /> ' (bsg), beneath the dispenser Islands at 2 feet bsg and from the stockpiled soil excavated from the <br /> Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
