SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> Soil samples will be collected.using Geoprobe:push-drien2-inch discrete soil sampler and four pre= . <br /> cleaned brass sleeves. All probe borings will be advanc d'using AGEs Geoprobe 5400 probing unit <br /> equipped with 1.1254nch probe rods. The exposed end 'of the second sleeve will be covered with <br /> Teflon sheets,.capped and sealed with tape,: . <br /> -Soils encountered in the borings-will be visually classified by an AGE geologist in accordance'with <br /> the-Unified.soil.Classification System(USCS). Additio x ally, soil samples with be.field screened for , . <br /> - the presence of volatile organic compounds using an'10 VM. <br /> Following sample collection, each preservedsample sleeve will be labeledwith the boring-location, . <br /> 'depth,time, date and sampler's initials. Appropriately s aled and labeled samples will be placed in. <br /> a chilled container under ice and transported under char -of-custody procedure to a DTSC-certified <br /> laboratory. _ <br /> 4.3.
