Y •
aqua scie ce
AW AIL_= engineers inc0 j=
October 3, 2000
Mr Juan Robles
17886 South Airport Way
Manteca, CA 95337
SUBJECT WATER WELL SAMPLING RESULTS
17886 South Airport Way
Manteca, CA 95337
Dear Mr Robles
On August 21, 2000, Aqua Science Engineers, Inc (ASE) collected
groundwater samples from the domestic well located on your property at
17886 South Airport Way in Manteca, California The samples were
submitted to Kiff Analytical Laboratory in Davis, California for analysis
None of the compounds analyzed were detected above laboratory
detection limits Groundwater samples were collected from the domestic
well again on September 19, 2000 Once again, none of the compounds
analyzed were detected above laboratory detection limits
A second well on the property used for irrigation was sampled on August
24, 2000 These samples were collected from the well using a bailer
Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) was detected in the water sample at
0 84 parts per billion (ppb) A confirmation sample collected from the
well on September 19, 2000 contained 0 92 ppb MTBE Both of these
concentrations are below the California Department of Health Services
(DHS) maximum contaminant level (MCL) for drinking water of 5 ppb It
is our understanding that water from this well is not used for domestic
purposes (drinking, cooking, washing, etc ) Although the MTBE
concentrations detected did not exceed DHS MCLs for drinking water, ASE
recommends that water from this irrigation well continue to nat_ be used
for drinking or cooking
Once again, we would like to reiterate that the low MTBE concentrations
were detected in the irrigation well only, and that no MTBE was detected
in water samples collected from the domestic well (the well used f o r
water in your home) on either occasion
i
208 W El Prntodo, Donvrlle, Colrfornra 94526 • 925-820-9391 • Fox 925-837-4853
