aqua science <br /> . _ . en yineers inc. <br /> i , <br /> April 30, 2001 <br /> Ms Anita Cassidy <br /> 625 El Portal Avenue <br /> Manteca, CA 95337 <br /> SUBJECT WATER WELL SAMPLING RESULTS <br /> 17926 South Airport Way <br /> Manteca, CA 95337 <br /> Dear Ms Cassidy <br /> On April 13, 2001, Aqua Science Engineers, Inc (ASE) collected <br /> groundwater samples from the domestic well located on your property at <br /> 17926 South Airport Way in Manteca, California The samples were <br /> submitted to Kiff Analytical Laboratory in Davis, California for analysis <br /> • The analysis showed that the water sample contained 76 parts per billion <br /> (ppb) methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) The California Department of <br /> Health Services (DHS) has established a maximum contaminant level <br /> (MCL) of 5 ppb for MTBE in drinking water The MTBE concentrations <br /> detected in groundwater samples collected from your water well exceeded <br /> drinking water standards In addition, methanol was detected at a <br /> concentration of 110 ppb However, methanol is a common laboratory <br /> contaminant because it is used to clean sample vials and various <br /> laboratory equipment Residual methanol may have been present in the <br /> sample vials resulting in the elevated methanol Please continue to use the <br /> alternative water supplied to you for this property until further notice <br /> If you have any questions regarding the groundwater situation, please <br /> contact Ms Dot Lofstrom of the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services at (209) 468-3436 ASE will continue to sample your well on a <br /> periodic basis, and we will continue to provide you with analytical results <br /> of all future sampling events If you would like to contact us, we can b e <br /> reached at (925) 520-9391 <br /> 208 W El Pintado, Danville, Coli fomia 94526 • 925-820-9391 • Fax 925837-4853 <br />
