aquascience
AW
ff -w_ I MOF - I engineers iinc.
April 30, 2001
Mr Juan Robles
17886 South Airport Way
Manteca, CA 95337
SUBJECT WATER WELL SAMPLING RESULTS
17886 South Airport Way
Manteca, CA 95337
Dear Mr Robles
On March 9, 2001, Aqua Science Engineers, Inc (ASE) collected
groundwater samples from both the domestic and irrigation wells located
on your property at 17886 South Airport Way in Manteca, California The
samples were submitted to Kiff Analytical Laboratory in Davis, California
for analysis
Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) was detected at a
concentration of 230 parts per billion (ppb) in the domestic well sample
Methanol was detected in the sample collected from the irrigation well a t
a concentration of 150 ppb However, methanol is a common laboratory
contaminant because it is used to factory clean sample vials It also is
commonly used in the analytical laboratory Residual methanol may have
been present in the sample vials resulting in the methanol concentration
TPH-G would not be expected in a water sample collected from a domestic
well unless other compounds were also present For these reasons, ASE
returned to collect confirmation samples from the wells on April 13 ,
2001 During the confirmation sampling, the vials were rinsed with well
water prior to collecting the samples
The confirmation samples did not contain any detectable concentrations
of any of the compounds analyzed
If you have any questions regarding the groundwater situation, please
contact Ms Dot Lofstrom of the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services at (209) 468-3436 In addition, ASE would like to continue to
. sample your wells on a periodic basis, and we will continue to provide you
208 W El Pintodo, Danville, Calhfornra 94526 • 925-8249391 + Fox 925-8374853
