�. a uq science <br /> AW <br /> q _ _ <br /> _ _; I MMF1 ' engineers Inc. <br /> January 26, 2001 <br /> Mr Ray Fulton <br /> 4690 East Live Oak Road <br /> Lodi, CA 95240 <br /> SUBJECT WATER WELL SAMPLING RESULTS <br /> 17971, 17983 and 17995 South Airport Way <br /> Manteca, CA 95337 <br /> Dear Mr Fulton <br /> On December 19, 2000, Aqua Science Engineers, Inc (ASE) collected <br /> groundwater samples from the domestic well located on your property at <br /> the northwest corner of West Yosemite Avenue and Airport Way in <br /> Manteca, California This sampling was conducted as part of o u r <br /> • investigation related to the Frank's One Stop service station located a t <br /> 2072 West Yosemite Avenue On a quarterly basis, ASE is sampling <br /> domestic wells in the vicinity of the Frank's One Stop station Water from <br /> this well services 17971, 17983 and 17995 South Airport Way The <br /> samples were submitted to Kiff Analytical Laboratory in Davis, California <br /> for analysis The groundwater samples contained 0 91 parts per billion <br /> (ppb) methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) Because of this detectable <br /> concentration, ASE resampled the well on January 12, 2001 to confirm the <br /> presence of MTBE This confirmation sample contained 1 2 ppb MTBE <br /> The California Department of Health Services (DHS) has established a <br /> maximum contaminant level (MCL) for MTBE in drinking water of 5 ppb <br /> The MTBE concentration detected in groundwater samples collected from <br /> your well on both occasions did not exceed the DHS MCL for drinking <br /> water Although MTBE concentrations detected on both occasions did n o t <br /> exceed the DHS MCL for drinking water, we are arranging an alternate <br /> water supply for anyone in the area with detectable MTBE concentrations <br /> that may possibly be related to a source on the Frank's One Stop property <br /> This will require disconnecting the household pluming from the well and <br /> connecting the plumbing to 1,000-gallon water tanks, which will be filled <br /> • with city water on a regular basis This will eliminate any potential <br /> contact with MTBE, even though the concentrations are very low Please <br /> 208 W El Pintodo, Danville, California 94526 • 925-820-9391 • Fox 925-837-4853 <br />
