November 15, 2001 �n Ms Anita Cassidy 625 El Portal Avenue �c Manteca, CA 95337 % SUBJECT WATER WELL SAMPLING RESULTS 17926 South Airport Way Manteca, CA 95337 Dear Ms Cassidy On October 29, 2001, Aqua Science Engineers, Inc (ASE) collected groundwater samples from the domestic well located on your property at 17926 South Airport Way in Manteca, California The samples were submitted to Kiff Analytical Laboratory in Davis, California for analysis • The groundwater sample collected from your well contained 25 parts p e r billion (ppb) methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) The California Department of Health Services (DHS) has established a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 5 ppb for MTBE in drinking water The MTBE concentration detected in the groundwater samples collected from you i well exceeded dunking water standards Since the MTBE concentration detected in the water sample collected f i o m your well i,, above the DHS MCL for drinking water, ASE will be installing a water treatment system during the month of November Youi well pump will be put back in service at that time and the Aeropure water system will be removed from the property The water treatment system will eliminate any potential contact with MTBE In addition, ASE will continue to sample your well water on a periodic basis, and we will continue to provide y o u with analytical results of all future sampling events If you have any questions regarding the groundwater situation, please contact Ms Lori Duncan of the San Joaquin County Public Health Servtce4 at (209) 468-0337 ASE will continue to sample your well on a periodic basis, and we will continue to provide you with analytical results of all futui e sampling events If you would like to contact us, we can b e reached at (925) 820-9391 208 W Fl Pinrodo Donv,,e California 94,526 • 925820-9391 • Fox 925 E3748,53
