Frank's One Stop 2072 West Yosemite Avenue Manteca, California INTRODUCTION On October 23 2001, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services • Enviionmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) tient you a letter stating that a domestic wellhead treatment system would be installed on youi piopeity's well by Aqua Science Engineers (ASE), is a more peimanent Solution to pioviding water free of 1 ,2-DCA to the house's plumbing system A copy of this letter is included as Appendix A WELLHEAD TREATMENTSYSTEM-DESIGN AND INSTALLATION During the week of February 21, 2002 ASE installed a wellhead treatment System on the well located at 495 Aitpoit Way to iemediate low 1,2-DCA concentiations previously identified in that well The wellhead ti eatment system consists of the existing well pump a n d holding tank which is then plumbed to two 250 pound activated carbon canisters piped in series Untreated water is iemoved from the well and stored in the existing holding tank Untreated water leaves the holding tank and enteis the carbon canisteis prior to entering the plumbing system for the pioperty Each of the caibon canisteis is filled with 2 5 0 pounds of virgin 1200 mesh activated carbon The activated carbon is used as a media foi the 1,2-DCA molecules to adsorb onto Water- leaving • the canisters is then free of 1,2-DCA At the point in time when t h e activated caibon can no longer adsorb the 1,2-DCA molecules, concentiations of 1,2-DCA will be found in the watei stieam between the - 1 - 208 � V Fi Puiloda Danvdfe Cai,formo 94526 • 92 5 820-939) + Fox 926 8374853
