Results of this test, as well as all data collected during this test, will b e
presented in a report which will be included as an appendix to the
corrective action plan
TASK 3 -CONDUCT A CONSTANT RATE PUMPING TEST
Based on the results of the step drawdown test outlined in Task 2, a
1,000-minute constant rate pumping test will be designed to determine
the hydraulic conductivity and transmissivity in the shallow water-bearing
zone, calculate the capture zone radius for the shallow zone, and t o
determine whether deeper zones are affected by shallow pumping A
large water storage tank will be delivered to contain water produced
during this test The size of this tank will be determined by the results o f
the step drawdown test Water levels will be measured in all site
monitoring wells and piezometers prior to pumping Pressure transducers
will be placed in monitoring wells/piezometers MW-5, MW-11, P-3, P-4,
and P-5, and water levels will be recorded with a data logger Manual
water level measurements will also be collected as a backup from these
wells Manual water level measurements will also be collected from
monitoring wells MW-13, MW-14 and MW-15 across West Yosemite
• Avenue during the test If these "closer in" wells are affected, then water
levels will also be measured in wells further out on an as needed basis
(not anticipated due to the limited available drawdown)
Groundwater samples will also be collected during this test at the
following times Immediately upon the start of pumping, after 240-
minutes of pumping, after 600-minutes of pumping and at the end of the
test These groundwater samples will be contained in 40-m1 glass VOA
vials, pre-preserved with hydrochloric acid, and sealed without
headspace The samples will be labeled with the site location, sample
designation, date and time the samples were collected, and the initials of
the person collecting the samples The samples will be placed on ice f o r
transport to the analytical laboratory under chain of custody The
groundwater samples will be analyzed by a CALrEPA certified analytical
laboratory for TPH-G, BTEX, oxygenates, alcohols and HVOCs by FPA
Method 8260 and TPH-D by modified EPA Method 3550/8015
Results of this test, as well as all data collected during this test, will be
presented in a report which will be included as an appendix to the
• corrective action plan
Frank's One Stop Workplan — June 2000
-18-
