Monitor Well Destruction and Installation Report
City of Manteca Wastewater Quality Control Facility
' Page 4
A dedicated submersible direct-current (DC) pump was installed at the well during development. The
' bottom of the dedicated pump was set approximately 1-foot above the bottom of the well. Details of the
pump installation are presented in Table I. One-half inch OD polyethylene discharge tubing was used as
drop pipe for the pump installation. The well cap at the well included a quick connect fitting for
' attachment of clean, new 0.5 inch OD discharge tubing for sampling and purging events. The well cap
also included a 0.5-inch ID opening and removable plug to permit access for a water level probe.
' After development, the well was treated with 0.75 oz of 3 percent sodium hypochlorite (bleach) to
disinfect the well. The treatment resulted in a chlorine concentration of 100 mg/mL in the well. One
hundred gallons of water were purged from the well the next day. No chlorine was detected after 40
gallons were pumped from the well after treatment.
' Groundwater well development logs are included in Attachment C.
' Results of the initial measurements are:
Temperature, degrees C 19.5
Conductivity, µmhos/cm 425
Depth to well bottom, feet 27.51
Depth to water, feet 14.56
Static Water Elevation,feet msl 22.02
7.0 WELL CASING SURVEY
' Following completion, the well was surveyed to determine the location of the well and the elevation of
(1) a survey point at the ground surface, (2) the measuring point (MP) at the top of the well casing. The
elevation was surveyed to the NAVD88 datum. The surveyed well coordinates and the NAVD88
elevations for the new monitor well MW-11 are presented on Table 2. The Surveyor's Report is included
' in Attachment B.
Table 2
' Surve ed Well Location—Well MW-11
SURVEY POINT at MEASURING
' WELL LATITUDE LONGETUDE NORTHING EASTING GROUND SURFACE POINT
Cal Zone 3 Cal.Zone 3
U.S.Surve Fc U.S.Surve F, (NAVD88)M.S.L Ft.
