r J <br /> the SWRCB Clean up Fund Letter of Committment, you must make application to <br /> the State of California Water Resources you <br /> Board's (SWRCB) 'Petroleum <br /> Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund" (Fund) , As application package for the <br /> t Fund has been provided. <br /> The Fund was created pursuant to Chapter 6.75 of the California Health and <br /> Safety Code to help eligible owners and operators•lof petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks to: <br /> 1. Meet federal requirements to demonstrate financial responsibility; <br /> j 2. Obtain reimbursement for costs of the:�cleanup of unauthorized <br /> releases of petroleum from USTs; and I <br /> 3. Obtain reimbursement for damages awarded to third parties who are <br /> injured by petroleum releases. <br /> The maximum amount available from the Fund is $990,000 per occurrence. <br /> Claimants are responsible for the first $10,000 of eligible costs. <br /> Applications must be submitted to the SWRCB Cleanftlp Fund by March 31, 1994 to <br /> undergo eligibility ranking for funding in the 19914-95 .,state fiscal budget <br /> year. All subsurface investigations and remedial ;,actions roust be performed <br /> under a workplan approved by PHS/EHD. <br /> The Fund does notv <br /> co er the casts incurred for the removal, repair, retrofit, <br /> or installation of USTs.
