Five Star Marina - 3 - February 6, 2012
General Site Conditions
• Geology and Hydrogeology: The Site is underlain by interbedded and intermixed sand, i
silt and clay. The depth to groundwater is approximately 7 feet bgs and the groundwater
gradient is north to northwest with a gradient of 0.002 to 0.004 ft/ft. The closest surface
water is the Stockton Deep.Water Channel, located immediately adjacent to the site.
• Estimate of Hydrocarbon Mass in Soil: Prior to remediation, AGE estimated that
approximately-18,520 cubic yards of contaminated soil.remain with 773 pounds of TPHg
in site soil and 0.49 pounds of TPHg dissolved in groundwater
• Groundwater Trends: There are more than 13 years of groundwater monitoring data for
this Site. Benzene trends are shown below, source area (MW-8) and down gradient
(MW-5)
BENZENE Results for MW8 ;
1 - 76 1... _ ...
50
36.I-
2U -
•° ;; x
BENZENE T •nd
BENZENE Results for MW5
❑el
-_ I...
iL9ENZENE w Trend j
Sensitive Receptor Survey
A Sensitive Receptor Survey (SRS) was conducted in Advance Geo Environmental. A records
search at the Department of Water Resources and an on-the-ground survey in the area did not
identify any water supply wells within a 2,000 foot radius of the Site. The Stockton Deep Water
Channel lies approximately 50 feet from the site. Drinking water at and near the Site is currently
supplied by the Stockton Water District.
Recommendation
June 2008, the Fund concurs with the San Joaquin County LOP that the Responsible Party
must define the vertical extent of contamination, further define the extent of groundwater
contamination to the northwest, and to conduct batch extraction to reduce groundwater
contamination. The Fund will review this site next year to track progress.
UPDATED', June 2009, the Fund recommends that the San Joaquin County LOP review this
site for closure.
