The purpose of thiswork is to conclude groundwater <br /> investigation and monitoring and to comply with final site closure. San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services (SJCPHS) issued and August 12, 1999 letter concurring with the <br /> July 19, 1999 Request for Closure. This work plan includes a proposed scope of work, and <br /> schedule. Field procedures are presented as Attachment A. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed scope of work includes the abandonment of the three groundwater <br /> monitoring wells at the site. <br /> As required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration(OSHA) Standard <br /> "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Respo se"guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120), <br /> and by California Occupational Health and Safety Ad inistration (Cal-OSHA) "Hazardous <br /> Waste Operations and Emergency Response"guidelin s (CCR Title 8, Section 5192), IT <br /> will prepare a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan prior to the commencement of <br /> fieldwork. The field staff and contractors will review he Site-Specific Health and Safety <br /> Plan before beginning field operations at the site. <br /> The specific scope of work is discussed below: <br /> • Monitoring Well Abandonment. The three monitoring wells will be <br /> abandoned consistent with requirements of section 13.17 of the SJCPHS <br /> well standards. Because residual soil contarnination was detected in <br /> MW-1, the wells will be over drilled to approximately 30 feet below <br />
