Additional Site Assessment and Soil Vapor Extraction Test Second Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Data 3 <br /> 7-Eleven, Inc, Store 21756, 853 E Yosemite Avenue Manteca California August 5, 2002 <br /> ' 52 Soil Borings <br /> On April 1 through 3, 2002, Shaw supervised the drilling of four soil borings to depths of about 29, 30, and <br /> 40 feet bg using a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with 8-and 10-inch outside-diameter(O D ) <br /> hollow-stem augers, or Geoprobe Macrocore direct-push technology (Appendix A) All drilling equipment <br /> was steam cleaned prior to drilling each boring, and sampling equipment was washed in a non-phosphate <br /> ' detergent solution and rinsed with water between sampling intervals All soil and rinse water generated <br /> during the drilling were placed in labeled Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums <br /> ' and subsequently removed from the site by a licensed waste hauling company Drilling logs are Included <br /> in Appendix A <br /> 53 Soil Sample Collection <br /> Soil samples were collected from boreholes GP-6 and MW-4 continuously from 5 feet bg to total depth <br /> The samples were collected using a Macrocore sampler lined with acetate sleeves Soil samples were <br /> field-screened for hydrocarbon vapors using a photo-ionization detector Soil was logged using the <br /> Unified Soil Classification System by a Shaw field geologist working under the supervision of a California- <br /> rregistered geologist(Appendix A) Based on field screening for hydrocarbon content and proximity to the <br /> capillary fringe, selected soil samples were sealed with teflon sheets, capped, labeled, and placed on ice <br /> in an insulated container for transport under chain of custody to a state-certified laboratory for analysis for <br /> BTEX and TPH-G using EPA Methods 8021 B18015B, and for MTBE and other oxygenates by EPA <br /> Method 8260B <br /> 64 Grab Groundwater Sample Collection <br /> ' A Simulprobe device was used to collect a groundwater sample from boring GP-6 The sample was <br /> collected into 40-milliliter volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials, filled to zero headspace, acidified and kept <br /> ' on ice until delivery to a state-certified laboratory for analysis The groundwater sample was analyzed for <br /> BTEX and TPH-G by EPA Methods 8020/8015 modified, and oxygenates MTBE, TBA, DIPS, ETRE, and <br /> TAME by EPA Method 8260 <br /> 1 <br /> 21756SAR doc <br />
