In a letter dated January 16, 2009, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD) directed you to have the work proposed in the Addendum to Interim Remediation Work
Plan dated April 21, 2008, prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) implemented
and a site conceptual model (SCM) and a prediction of the plume response to the remediation
operation and its effect on the tetrachloroethene (PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE) plume or a
work plan to obtain any additional information needed to prepare the predictive SCM submitted
to the EHD by March 27, 2009. To date none of the proposed work has been completed nor
have any documents been submitted. The work should be completed and the documents
submitted by October 1, 2009.
To comply with Resolution 2009-0042, recently adopted by the State Water Resources Control
Board, your sampling requirements have been reduced further and now consist of the following:
• Annual sampling — MW-1, MW-4, MW-5, MW-8, MW-10A, MW-13A.
• Semi-annual sampling - MW-2, MW-3, MW-6, MW-7A, MW-11A, and MW-12A.
As noted in the January 16, 2009, EHD letter, please report all peaks and anomalies of PCE and
TCE so that they can be differentiated from total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline
unless your laboratory can exclude these compounds from the gasoline range hydrocarbons and
note the exclusion in their report.
If you have any questions, please contact Frank Girardi at (209) 953-7868.
