YOSEMITE AVENUE, MANTECA, SAN <br /> JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The dry cleaning solvent perchloroethene (PCE)has been detected in groundwater at the Rainwater Car <br /> Wash,which is near the French Cleaners, 416 W. Yosemite Avenue, Manteca. We are requesting that <br /> you conduct a soil vapor survey on and around your property. Since dry cleaning solvents are volatile <br /> and groundwater in this area is shallow, a soil vapor survey is a cost effective means of determining <br /> whether a release occurred on your property. Because we are not certain of the date of the release of the <br /> PCE, we are also interested in any information you may have on the property owner and previous <br /> operators of dry cleaning businesses at your location. <br /> By 15 December 2003,please submit a work plan for a soil vapor survey at your property. The survey <br /> should include, at a minimum, vapor samples from the vicinity of the sewer lateral connection of the <br /> building, and from the front and rear of the property.
