Rainwater Car Wash • - 2 - 1 August 2012
420 W. Yosemite Ave., Manteca
San Joaquin County
In the Model, AAAI presented the results (attached Table 1) of a non-steady state Domenico model
developed by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board in May 2001. AA&I's Model
concluded the MTBE travel time is 37 years (2030) to reach the City of Manteca Supply Well 22
(CMW-22) to first impact at 0.1 ug/L MTBE, 38.4 years (2031) to exceed California Secondary Maximum
Contaminant Levels (MCLS) of 5 ug/L MTBE, and 61.6 years (2055) to reach a peak (maximum) MTBE
concentration of 13.58 ug/L, which exceeds the CA Primary MCL of 13 ug/l.
Comments:
I concur to semi-annual groundwater monitoring for the existing wells. However, the CMT wells MTBE
data may be suspect if groundwater in those wells is flowing between zones allowing cross-
contamination between the water-bearing zones. Please submit a well destruction work plan by
30 August 2013 for wells MW-7 through MW-13 and a schedule for installation of the previously
approved monitoring wells to adequately delineate the pollutant plume. San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department must well permit all well destructions and installations. Depth-discrete
well clusters must be constructed to monitor at least the first three water-bearing zones down-gradient of
MW-11.
If you have any questions, I may be reached by phone at (916) 464-4615 or by e-mail at
i Barton ta-.waterboards.ca.aov.
James L.L.
