11 June 1999 <br /> • AGE-NC ProlectNo 97-0333 <br /> ' Page 6 of 9 <br /> Faint to intense petroleum hydrocarbon odor was noted in grab ground water samples collected from <br /> ' probings P-1 through P-4 <br /> ' 43 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> A total of seventeen soil samples were submitted to a DHS-certified laboratory (McCampbell <br /> Analytical Inc ) for analysis of TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE and fuel oxygenated compounds <br /> (DIPE, TAME, ETBE and TBA) Utilizing EPA Method 8015M, TPH-g was detected in soil <br /> ' samples collected from probe borings P-1, P-2,P-4 and P-5 at concentrations ranging as high as 390 <br /> mg/kg, however, the laboratory reported that unmodified or weakly modified gasoline was <br /> significant TPH-d was detected in soil samples collected from P-1, P-3, P-4 and P-5 at <br /> concentrations ranging as high as 49 mg/kg, however, the laboratory reported that the diesel <br /> chromatograms for the samples did not have typical diesel characteristics <br /> ' Utilizing EPA Method 8020, BTEX were detected in soil samples collected from P-1 though P-6 at <br /> concentrations ranging as high as 51 mg/kg,MTBE was detected in soil samples collected from P-1, <br /> P-2, P-4 and P-5 at concentrations ranging as high as 110 mg/kg <br /> ' <br /> Utilizing EPA Method 8260 MTBE was detected in soil samples collected from P-1 through P-6 <br /> ' at concentrations ranging as high as 140 mg/kg, TAME and TBA were detected in soil samples <br /> collected from P-5 at concentrations ranging as high as 0 36 mg/kg No other fuel oxygenated <br /> compounds were detected during the laboratory analysis of selected soil samples Analytical results <br /> ' of soil samples are summanzed in Table 2 The laboratory report (McCampbell Analytical Inc Lab <br /> ID 09555 through 09584) and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix.
