' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d,
respectively) by EPA Methods 35501503018015 Modified,
• Benzene,toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene(BTEX) and methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)
by EPA Method 8020,
• Tertiary butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether(ETBE), tert amyl
methyl ether (TAME) and MTBE by EPA Method 8260 Modified,
• Tetrachloroethene(PCE) and trichloroethene (TCE)by EPA Method 8260 Modified,
' • Total lead(quarterly sampling frequency) by EPA Method 6010/200 7,
24 INFLUENT MONITORING RESULTS
In accordance with the requirements of CMPWD Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit No 02-1,
start-up sampling and bi-monthly ground water pump-and-treat influent sampling was performed for
laboratory analysis of TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE, DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, PCE, TCE and
total lead between 21 January 2002 and 01 April 2002
Influent water samples collected on the above dates detected TPH-g at concentrations as high as
i 63,000 4g/l, TPH-d as high as 1,400 µg/l, BTEX constituents as high as 8,600 µg/1 (toluene) and
f MTBE(by EPA Method 8260)at concentrations as high as 90,000 4g11, TCE and PCE were detected
on one occurrence at concentrations of 8 cg/l and 45 mg/l, respectively The laboratory analysis did
' not detect any other constituents of concern Analytical results of pump-and-treat influent-water
samples are summarized in Table 2, laboratory reports are in Appendix A
T MONITORING
2 5 EFFLUEN RESULTS
In accordance with the requirements of CMPWD Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit No 02-1,
start-up sampling and bi-monthly ground water pump-and-treat effluent monitoring was performed
for flow rate, specific conductivity(EC),pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), TPH-g, TPH-d,
BTEX, MTBE, DIPE, TAME, ETBE, TBA, PCE, TCE and total lead
' Laboratory analysis of pump-and-treat effluent grab water samples collected between 21 January and
O1 April 2002 detected TPH-d at a concentration of 76 4g/l in the 01 March 2002 sample(Table 2),
no other target analytes were detected Analytical results are summarized in Table 2, laboratory
reports are in Appendix A
