' Site Summary RAINWATER CAR WASH ' 420 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California ' 1.0. BACKGROUND ' The site is located at 420 West Yosemite Avenue, at the southeast corner of Yosemite Avenue and Jessie Street in a topographically flat area at an elevation between 30 and 35 feet above mean sea level in Manteca, San Joaquin County, California The site is within the northeast quarter of Section 5, Township 2 South, Range 7 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian(Manteca Quadrangle, 7 5- Minute USGS Topographic Series, 1952, photo revised 1987) ' 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION The site is presently operated as a fueling facility and a mini-market One 10,000-gallon UST, one 6,000-gallon UST and one 4,000-gallon gasoline UST were formerly located on a west section of the property, a car wash was formerly located on a south section of the property One 15,000 gallon I ' gasoline UST is presently located on the east section of the property 3.0. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL In December 1998, three gasoline USTs (UST Nos 1, 2 and 3) and associated dispensers/product ' piping were removed from a west section of the site(see Figure 2) Upon removal,soil samples were collected beneath the UST excavation and beneath product piping areas Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g)were detected in soil samples collected beneath the east ends of the USTs at concentrations as high as 2,600 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg),in soil samples collected beneath the west ends of the USTs at concentrations as high as 25 mg/kg, and in soil ' samples collected beneath product piping at concentrations as high as 8,000 mg/kg i Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX compounds) were detected in soil samples j collected beneath the east ends of the USTs at concentrations as high as 340 mg/kg,beneath the west ' ends of the USTs at concentrations as high as 2 7 mg/kg, and beneath product piping at concentrations as high as 880 mg/kg Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tert-amyl methyl ether(TAME) and tert-butanol (TBA)were detected in soil samples collected beneath the east ends of the three USTs at concentrations as high as 16 mg/kg,beneath the west ends of the USTs at concentrations as high as 3 1 mg/kg,and beneath product piping at concentrations as high as 690 mg/kg 1 ' Advanced GcoEnvironmental Inc.
