Introduction
Round table introduction
2. Project Over view and Status
The Family Entertainment Zone (FEZ) site includes 210 acres to be developed with various
public serving regional and local recreations, parks and sporting facilities including visitor
serving commercial uses and public infrastructure to be developed in phases. The FEZ will be
developed through a series Of public projects and public/private transactions in phases located
within designated FEZ zones. The EIR was sent Out to various agencies and comments were
incorporated in the final approved EIR. The firing range was identified in the EIR to be mitigated
prior to any construction on the site.
T.Y.Lin International (Nabaz) is retained by the City of Manteca as a Program Manager. Under
his program management contract he engaged GEOCON to perform the ISA Phase If.
Nabaz noted that the ISA Phase II Report was coordinated with the County and based on the
findings, the City had issued a public bid for the cleaning of the firing range site and has retained
a contractor to perform the work. Nabaz also noted that the City has a contractor on board to
construct the major utilities crossing the site such as sewer, water and non-potable water
pipelines.
GEOCON (Rick) indicated that once they were under contract, he approached the County about
the process to follow and what agreements should be developed to perform the Phase If ISA
and who will be the leading agency for this cleaning of the firing range.
Rick noted that back in July last year the County confirmed that the State (DTSC and RWQCB)
indicated that the County can oversight this cleaning process, hence City entered into a clearing
up agreement with the County.
TYLININTERNATIONAL
engineers I planners I scientists
