TED PETERS TRUCKING CO,INC SITE CODE: 1427
1985 YOSEMITE
NL NTECA CA 95336
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
has received and reviewed W,,k Plan Well A ban&mlpr dated June 14, 2001 prepared by
Geological Technics,Inc (GTI). The work plan proposed destroying two monitoring wells
(MW-2 and MW-3) at the above referenced site since onlynegligible amounts of gasoline
remain in soil and groundwater. The work plan further proposed retaining MW 1 in order
to support the above ground storage tank investigation.
PHS/EHD does not approve the workplan at this time. Analytical results of MW-1
samples from the last quarterly sampling collected on May 1, 2000 were 379 micrograms per
liter(%/1) of Gasoline as reported in GrapxivaterMloruto ngRepon Spring Quarter 2000 dated
August 18,2000 prepared by GTI. The same report concluded that groundwater does not
appear to be significantly impacted. PHS/EHD agrees that the analytical results do not
appear significantly high. Nevertheless, only three quarters of monitoring have been
performed at this site to date.
The monitoring wells were sampled in the months of July(3rd Quarter),November(4th
Quarter), and May(tad Quarter). PHS/EHD req uirAes you to perform three additional
consecutive quarters of sampling beginning in the 3d Quarter of 2001 to provide at least one
complete annual groundwater monitoring cycle before closure or well destruction can be
considered.
Donna Heran, REFIS,Director
Environmental Health Division
V
Jeffrey Wong, Dot Lofstrom,RG
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
Cc: CRWQCB, Central Valley Region— Marty Hartzell
Cc: Geological Technics, Inc. -- Ray Kablanow
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
