Analyti al results of the soil sample collected from the UST excavation at 7 feet below surface grade (bsg) were 83,500 parts per billion (ppb) methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), 298 ppb total petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline, 204 ppb benzene, 7,090 ppb toluene, 2,470 ppb ethyl-benzene, and 14,900 ppb total xyler es. Current depth to groundwater in this area is approximately 10 feet bsg. San Joaquin County Public Health Services E vironmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) has reviewed the "Soil Boring/Terrip. Monitoring Well Work Plan" dated June 10, 1998 prepared by Del-Tech. HSIEHD recommends the following changes/addendum to the work plan 1) Conduct a well survey and locate all wells ithin a 2000 feet radius of the site. The location of all private, municipal, irrigation, and other wells identified in the survey and any known construction etails of these wells should be submitted to PHSIEHD prior to any work being performed. 2) Advance soil borings in the source area u til at least two consecutive five-foot interval soil samples have been obtained tat indicate by field observations and field screening tool readings that the vertical extent of the contamination has been defined. 3) The plan should contain a contingency for additional bore holes based on field observations.
