Yosemite
Manteca, CA 95336
The San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has recently completed the review of the report
submitted by Applied GeoSystems to ouir office on October 30, 1989.
We have the following comments and recommendations.
1. Quarterly monitoring was requested by Regional Water
Quality Control Board (RWQCB) "n June, 1989 . To date this
investigation has not been initiated. Monitoring of all on-
site wells should begin immediaitely since known groundwater
contamination exists at this site.l
2 . y Additional monitoring wells: should be installed at this
site. RWQCB has suggested that one well be installed within
ten feet of the tank pit in the verified down gradient
direction.
Submit completed application for a monitor well and/or soil
borings to PHS/EHD. (Form enclosed. )
Prior to issuance of permits, a copy of the demolition permit
issued by the City of Mantec for the demolition of the
building previously located at this site shall be submitted to
PHS/EHD.
3 . Definition of the North, East and Westerly borders of
contamination are now possible Jue to the destruction of the
previously existing building. Suggest methods to be used to
define "zero lines" in these directions for soil and
_ __.groundwater contamination.
Applied GeoSystems, "Preliminary Repo t Evaluation of Soil and Groundwater
conditions" .
