Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: Former Texaco Service Station, 9411' East Yosemite Avenue, Manteca,
California.
Ms. Reuss:
With the authorization of Mr. Gary Brophy, we are requesting formal authorization to
backfill the currently open excavation with the soil removed and stockpiled at the above-
referenced site, as recommended in our Letter Report No. 38053-2 (dated October 26,
1989).
After backfilling of the excavation is completed, we further request concurrence from your
department to initiate a quarterly monitoring program recommended in our Preliminary
Report No. 38053-1 (dated January 3, 1989) to asses concentrations of hydrocarbons in the
ground water over a period of one year. If concentrations decrease over this period, we will
reevaluate and possibly recommend terminating th monitoring program. If contaminant
concentrations increase or remain above action levels recommended by the California
Department of Health Services, active remediation may be warranted.
