Your reference code for this site is Site Code 1461. This meeting has been
scheduled because Mr. Brophy has not submitted a work plan to the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (SJPHS/EHD), for an additional
ground-water investigation. We have prepared this letter to summarize the site history and
present our interpretations of the data_ In our opinion, these data indicate installation of
additional monitoring wells and active remediation of water is not warranted at this site at
this tuna The location of the subject site is shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1).
Applied GeoSystems is performing an ongoing environmental investigation at this site which
has included (1) installing, three monitoring wells at the site; (2) arranging for and observing
removal of the underground product-delivery lines at the site and collecting soil samples
from beneath the lines; (3) observing removal of approximately 1,100 cubic yards of soil;and
(4) monitoring the ground-water quality on a quarterly basis.
Canonie Environmental Services Corporation (Canonie) of Stockton, California, initially
detected hydrocarbons in soil and ground water beneath the site during removal of the
underground storage tanks. After Canonie detected hydrocarbons, at the request of Mr.
Gary Brophy, in October 1988, Applied GeoSystems observed the drilling of three soil
borings and the construction of three monitoring wells at the site. The locations of these
monitoring wells are shown on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate P-2)_ Results of laboratory
i
