Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
No septic systems are currently located on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
The Mclntoshes plan to build a new septic system for the new residence.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. No septic permits were identified.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 24 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site. Buildings located within
Ripon city limits were presumed to be connected to municipal sewer services, and were
not counted.
The vicinity of the Site is composed of orchards, rural residences, and residential
neighborhoods within the City of Ripon; a nursery is located to the west.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department for nearby properties, septic systems in the area utilize leach lines,
leach lines with sumps, or leach lines with 10-foot deep seepage pits. The septic
permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected usage on the Site would be from the future residents of the Site.
Septic system design should be based on the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater
Treatment Systems Standards (2017) or other engineering recommendations.
LOGE 20-25 Page 2
