TIERED PERMITTING
NOTICE TO COMPLY
4. The chromium treatment secondary containment is not being maintained properly.
An inch or two of water was found within the secondary containment. The
secondary containment must remain in good condition and free of liquid. Clean
out secondary containment and provide this office with documentation of the
cleanup by 4-1-04. Begin immediately properly maintaining secondary
containment.
The water in the secondary containment area was the result of rainwater
cascading over the gutters and into the containment area. The water was
pumped out and put into the treatment system. To temporarily solve this
problem, a blue tarp has been secured from the top of the beam along the
east wall (right of the containment unit) so that any rainwater will be
diverted outside of the containment unit. A permanent fix will be developed
when the rainy season ends and the wood beams have a chance to dry out.
19 & 21. A written inspection log from 2003 and written operating instruction could
not be found during the inspection. Provide this office with a copy of both
documents by 4-1-04.
Both documents were presented to the inspector during the followup
visit on March 5, 2004. Corrected on-site per Dina Abate.
