4 . 1 Operation
CLARIFIER TANK The wastewater from the flocculation
tank which contains heavy metal which is
trapped by polymer and flows to the
gravitational flow section of the
clarifier tank.
From this point, the heavy metal sinks
to the bottom of the clarifier tank and
the wastewater free of metal flows to
the city through the paddle wheel
flosensor.
The pH probe is located at the
gravitational flow section to check
wastewater pH before it flows to the
City. If 0-6 or 10-12 pH range, the pH
probe sends a signal to the pH monitor
#3 on the electrical panel to energize
the alarm.
The timer on the electrical panel is
used to energize both, 1 ) 2-way solenoid
valve at sludge thickener tank 2) 2-way
solenoid valve at clarifier tank. Both
valves energize at same time while the
2-way solenoid valve at clarifier tank
is energized by the timer . Air then
flows through the 2-way solenoid valve
and F/R/L unit to the air diagram Wilden
pump to operate. The heavy metal in
wastewater flows from the bottom of the
clarifier tank to the sludge thickener
tank.
SLUDGE THICKENER TANK The wastewater containing the heavy
metal is pumped from the bottom of the
clarifier tank to the sludge thickener
tank, where the heavy metal of the
wastewater has more time to sink to the
bottom. The wastewater free of heavy
metal at the top of the sludge thickener
tank then overflows back to equalization
tank A for pretreatment.
While the 2-way solenoid valve at the
sludge thickener tank is energized by
the timer, air flows through the 2-way
solenoid valve and F/R/L unit to the air
diagram Wilden pump to operate. The
heavy metal wastewater flows from the
bottom of the sludge thickener tank to
filter press.
22
