Measurements were taken of the rinse Ovater before it was dumped into the
holding tank beneath the etch sink. The rinse tank fills to a level of
approximately 4.5 gallons. The measurement was taken after the parts were
placed in the water before the spray rinse was activated. Once the spray
rinse is activated the rinse water is dumped and the rinse tank refills.
The holding tank has a capacity of 100 gallons. Due to the location of the
drain the holding tank always has a buffer of 50 gallons. The holding tank
is an individual tank within the etch station with the station acting as a
second containment.
When parts enter the rinse after the Sodium Hydroxide solution the rinse
water pH was 9
When parts enter the rinse from the Nitric Acid Solution the rinse water pH
was 1
The Sodium Hydroxide solution is a 3.5% mixture.
The Nitric Acid solution is a 35% mixture.
Let me know if there is anything else you need.....
David
z
