7 <br /> INFORMATION SHEET <br /> PACIFIC ENERGY, INC. <br /> AND THE CITY OF STOCKTON <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> Pacific Energy, formerly Pacific Lighting Energy Systems, under contract with the <br /> City of Stockton, operates a methane gas recovery facility at the Austin Road <br /> Landfill . Methane gas is collected from the landfill and burned to generate <br /> electricity (800 KW) . During the collection process, moisture condenses in the <br /> pipes and at the plant. Line condensate is distributed back into the landfill via <br /> condensation traps, where the condensate can infiltrate the refuse. Plant <br /> condensate is pumped back to the landfill and discharged to condensation traps. <br /> The Austin Road Landfill is a Class II-2 waste site in Section 3, T1S, R7E, <br /> MDB&M. This site is approximately six miles southeast of Stockton, on Austin <br /> Road. The site consists of 180 acres, of which 114 are filled.
