.i
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Testing of the MicroSepTec EnviroServer 600 was conducted under the provisions of ANSIINSF Standard
40 for Residentiff Wast eater Treatment Systems (January 1999 revision). ANSI/NSF Standard 40 was
developedfray the NSF Joint Committee on Wastewater Technology.
The performance evaluation was conducted at the Bazan Bay STP Wastewater Technology Test Facility
located in North Saanich, British Columbia, using wastewater diverted from the Dean Park Estates municipal '
wastewater collection system. The STP Wastewater Technology Test Facility is a Standard 40
subcontractor for NSF. The evaluation consisted of five days,of dosing without sampling to allow for plant
start-up, sixteen weeks of dosing at design flowl'seven weeks of-stress test and three of dosing at design
flow. Sampling started in the late spring and continued through the Fall, covering a range of operating
temperatures.
Over the course of the evaluation,'the avereige luent CBOD.was 6 ing&, ranging between less than 2 and
62 mg/L, and the average effluent suspended solids was 8 mg/L, ranging between less than 2 mg/L and 45
mg/L.
The EnviroServer 600 produced an effluent that successfully met the performance requirements established
by ANSI/NSF Standard 40 for Class I effluent:
The maximum 7-day arithmetic mean was 40 mg/L for CBODS and 30 mg/L for suspended
solids, both at or below the allowed maximums of 40 and 45 mg/L respectively. The maximum
30-day arithmetic mean was 22 mg/L for CBOD3 and 16 mg/L for suspended solids, both below
the allowed maximums of 25 and 30 mg/L respectively.
The effluent pH during the entire evaluation ranged between, 6.2 and 7.9, within the required range of 6.0
to 9.0. The plant also met the requirements for noise levels (less than 60 dbA at a distance of 20 feet)and
color, threshold odor, oily film and foam.
r
99116=1510B0 This , may not be mprodtxed in:whole or in part Page 2 of 49
Final Report without the expressed wrt tan consent of MSF International.
